Before performing diagnosis on Tohatsu MFS 25/30B engines, keep the following considerations in mind:

- AM30 CABLE SWITCH OPERATION.

- ERROR DETECTION CONDITIONS.

AM30 CABLE SWITCH OPERATION

There is a "1/0" switch on the AM30 diagnosis cable. Based on its position, the control unit allows the diagnostic tool to perform specific functions. The positions the switch must be in during the diagnostic session are described below.

Position "1 ": the control unit allows all the test functions (component ACTIVATIONS) to be run both with the engine on and with the engine off. In this condition, the error log is not updated.

Position "O": in this condition, the error log is updated but the control unit does not allow any tests (component ACTIVATIONS) to be performed.

NOTE: during the diagnosis session, the software indicates the position the switch must be in.

ERROR DETECTION CONDITIONS

  • The "ECU charge coil" error is not displayed in the ERRORS page. To view the data, refer to the "Error log" function on the ACTIVATIONS page .
  • The "Ignition coil 1 ", "Ignition coil 2" and "Ignition coil 3" errors are not displayed if the safety cord is disconnected from the emergency switch.
